The Greatest Mothers Day...

First time experiences are always memorable and this past Mothers Day was my first and most memorable one I think I'll ever have. My beautiful baby girls were blessed by Shane. It's easy to take the priesthood for granted and on Mothers day I saw Shane from a whole new perspective. I fell in love- Completely fell in love all over again like we just had our first kiss or something. Someone rightly said, "love creates a better person out of you" and I know I've found that person. The twins blessings were beautiful.....and sooo different and unique from each other. Shane told me in each blessing the spirit hit him and he said a few unexpected things that surprised both of us. Here are some memmories of that day. Shane holding out Ashton for all to see. My dad said he took a peek during the blessing and she was wide eyed looking around at each of them content as can be. She was probably thinking "hey why do they all look so serious? ...this bouncing thing is pretty nice"
below he's comforting Lindsey. Oh our little Lindz. She cried through her whole blessing. Correction: she screamed her head off through the entire blessing. I had to lean in closer to hear Shane. Brett was holding her pacifier trying to put it in her mouth and it just made her that much more upset and my dad said they were bouncing her pretty good. I was hoping Shane wasn't nervous about her being so hysterical and I was so glad he continued on with the blessing.
Shane's mom and I laughing at the situation. Of course Lindsey reacted the way she did and you know what? ....I wouldn't have it any other way. If Lindsey was quiet through her blessing then it wouldn't have been the Lindsey we love. It was just like her to be so demanding and that day was no exception.

This happens alot. If they're not sucking on each others limbs then they're trying to eat each others whatever they can put in their mouths.

A couple family pictures. I'm not too excited about them but it is what it is and what a full day it was.
Look at their sweet dresses. We found them at a fabulous boutique in Salt Lake. I picked out Ashy's and Shane picked out Linny's. When we asked Toni and my mom who they thought the dresses would go on, they both said they right way. I think they styles fit them perfectly.
So happy to be with our cousin Steele
Shane had them in stitches...I kept telling him to stop so they could catch their little breaths.
Linked arms.
I swear they do this in their sleep too. How did I get so lucky to have two babies at the same time?!

A few people we love
Cheri's huge famous chocolate strawberry; custard-cream cake. We forgot a pic before it got devoured
...more people I love. Some girls were too cool for a picture and were out back playing.
Nanny Toni & Nanny Terri
maybe my favorite people!
Doc Richards and Kristine.... posssibley another favorite!
but one of my very favorite people is my MOM! Oh geez mom, this will be quick because I actually put mascera on today and I want it to stay on... I had no idea how much you loved me until I had my own babies. The day the girls were born I experienced all kinds of emotions some of which made me think of you. Nobody could be a better mom, sister, aunt or Nana than you. Everyone loves you. Yes, you're my mom for now but I know we were friends in the pre exsistance. Or sisters even, yeah I like to think we were sisters.

Daniel and Shane. I can't wait for my girls to be big enough to know this guy. They will pee their pants each time they're around him. I do.

My BFF cousin, Ashley!
One of my favorite pictures of all time with Shelly and grandma and grandpa Stauffer.
So sleepy after such a big day. I don't know if they've ever had so many people hold them. We bathed them, fed them and they were out. Lindsey fought it hard. She couldn't even keep her eyes open but she was fussing and tossing around with her eyes closed. It was hilarious. She was beyond tired. My dad had the magic touch with her. (Ash is at the other end and somehow didn't make it in this pic)
Thank you everyone who participated and made the day that much better. Thank you Toni for cleaning up my entire kitchen which was worse than Thanksgiving cleanup! Thank you mom and daddy for being here to make us laugh, catch up on sleep and give me nighttime tickles. Thank you Vander for waiting to be born until the next day so nana and papa could be with Autie Truly!

I was reminded today my heavenly father is well aware of me, something I forgot to remember.

If I do my best I will be looked after.
I have beautiful flowers on my counter reminding me that I am loved. I know they're just flowers but they do make me smile.
I've over done it and I've been physically tired from continuously being 'super mom'. I'm running myself into the ground. I've learned to let the house get a little dirty. I've learned I don't always get the chance to look pretty and I've accepted the fact that I just don't have the energy to start running again for now. I realize my own needs come second. Being cheerful, laughing and loving my girls comes so natural to me and I believe I'm an excellent mom. It's the constant energy, being quick on my feet, and attending to the twins every need that's so draining. That is in itself a 'supermom' job. Just when I thought I would fall apart or hit a wall...I actually got to take a much needed nap.

Sometimes an answer to a prayer comes in the most unexpected ways. Did I expect beautiful flowers and a romantic movie from Shane or a two hour window gap when BOTH girls were sleeping? Not. At. All.
