"You're Gonna Miss This"

I know I've already added to my blog today and it's very late, but I just heard a song that made me re-prioritize things and I immediately wanted to sit down and write.
It's so important for us to understand that happiness is not the destination, it's the journey. The sooner we realize this the better off we'll be.
You don't find eternal happiness when you graduate from school, or buy a new house, or get a new car. You dont find happiness when your face clears up or when you lose some weight either. My point is this: every time you reach a specific destination another journey begins. LIFE is one continuous journey reaching many destinations. We don't all look at life through the same telescope so where ever you find that you are I hope you're content and happy. Some of us will never stop looking. Some of us will go through life opening doors in search for 'something else'. My mom once wrote a book for me with this bit of information in it: She says "....your life is yours to live as you choose. As you continue along your journey, please enjoy the ride." I've added the song "You're Gonna Miss This" to my playlist- if it's not already playing; please take a minute and check it out. Obviously it touched me. I hope I made sense; as I am deep in thought at this late hour. I am at peace for my heart has confimed to me, as it has many times before, I am content and happy. Although because we are human, sometimes life AND living in this world can be so harsh-- it's these times I have to remind myself what's really important and slow down to Enjoy my Ride....

Meet Addie/Duke & TAGGED!

I realized I haven't posted any pictures of my cats. Not that any of you care, I just want to make a post out of it for our book. Each month I print off my new posts and add them to a book. It's great because this way we have a journal with writing and pictures.
Meet Addie: Addie really doesn't like her picture to be taken and can be very moody to visitors. Hense her name, "Addie"-tude!
But she LOVES golf. No seriously she really and truly does. She'll sit for hours under the tv if golf is on. It's so bizarre

Only because a few people have asked me this will I explain.... we shave Addie-Cakes in the spring and summer because it gets so hot and she has really long hair-- and I love it because she doesn't shed. So everyone's happy. The picture at the top is how she usually looks

Meet Duke: He pretty much thinks he owns our house and loves it when people come over. How did we discover him in our Christmas Tree you say?? Well let me tell you. We were watching a movie and our tree kept meowing and meowing. I walked over, searched throughout, and there he was at my eye level. The SOB was staring right back at me. He was so proud of himself for climbing so high. I debated whether or not to take him down. I ended up leaving him there and he stayed silent through the whole movie. Our tree stopped 'meowing' once he knew I knew he was in there. What an entertainer.

I love this cat!! I can't get enough of him! I love this cat!!! Oh I do need kids, don't I!

5 Years ago I was:

living my single live up in Provo at Belmont or Arlington. College was soooo fun! I met Shane about this time too.

What's on my "TO DO" list today:

*SHANE!

*call Dr. Richards about ultrasounds, bloodwork, and meds

*make banana bread

*shot injections

*decide on dinner & what movie to see.

Snacks I enjoy:

*cadbury creme eggs

*raspberry tea

*green olives

*gummy bears, only the Haribo brand!

If I were a Billionaire what would I do:

open my own animal shelter. DUHHH!! It would be an indoor/outdoor shelter that's heated in the winter and has misters in the summer. I'll have cages for the occasional cat who doesn't deal well with other animals. Otherwise it's an open field---free to roam. I'll have my own Vet Center attached where ALL cats will be spayed and neutured as well as several employees to clean up and supply food, water, and treats. Most importantly these animals will be LOVED. A place of pure bliss....a little Heaven on Earth. ....They may not want to be adopted out LOL :)

6 things people don't know about me:

*I sanitize my hands in the car everytime I leave the grocery store and I can't wait to get home so I can wash them.

*I absolutely have to have very clean sheets everytime I get into bed. Very clean!

*I honestly have never watched a full episode or even 15 minutes of Saved By the Bell. I

couldn't tell you a thing about that show.

*I cannot walk into a garage or on the sidewalk barefoot. It creeps me out just thinking about it. I'm definitely my mothers daughter!

*I genuinely enjoy talking with older folks. Their stories are so enticing, as their childhood is nothing like what you'd hear in today's world. It fascinates me to know they were once young and beautiful and struggled with hardships through war and the great depression; as well as made great accomplishments throughout their Legacy. These sweet people are who we will one day become...and no matter the age; they will always be someody's baby!

*I LOVE fresh flowers and always like having them in my house.

Random & Unforgetable moments!

Happy Easter!! We went to Aunt Cheri and Larry's house for dinner....AND Marky flew in town and surprised everyone! Nobody can make me laugh the way Mark can!

Ash Graduated...We're so proud you stuck it out and actually enjoyed what you learned from start to finish. Well done and good luck, Ash!

Grandma and Grandpa Goff even came down for Ashley's graduation. Shane and I were so glad to get to spend time with them. It's always such a treat!

How do I explain this weekend?!! I laughed until I peed, I ate until I had to unbutton my jeans, I about threw up playing the "I've never.... " game. Watching midgets do what?!? ALLEN!!!! I think I went into temperature shock from rolling in the 5ft of snow after the hottub and almost cried because I couldn't get back in :) What is wrong with us! I can't believe I have a group of friends this crazy!!All the boys were so good! For as loud as we were that night; we only woke them up twice!!!

Look at TRULY...she loves Shane. He really is sooo good with her. It makes me want a girl of my own

Horses! Have you ever watched horses in their field? It's extremely theraputic. Shane and I did this on our way up to D and K's house. He's so cute because he knows I love feeding them. Good day!

Food for Thought....

Something happened to me over the weekend. I had a phone conversation with someone, who over the past year, I've come to know well and highly respect. In the end; that person deeply disappointed me. He always seemed so much different. I prayed for comfort to understand. Then yesterday in church, the sunday school teacher said..."It's ok not to be ok." I thought and thought about it. She's absolutely right! I'm not always as strong as I look or act so why do I need to pretend I am?
I wanted to share this because it's such a simple statement yet it holds so much meaning.... It really is ok to not be ok; sometimes.

Snow-Shoeing...

First off Keith and Charayye got married! It was really, really nice and seriously great to see everyone that came up for the special day. I'm waiting until we get the pictures back from the photographer....so more on that later!


Uncle Lar took Shane and I snow-shoeing for the first time through American Fork Canyon. I still can't believe how fun that group was. I told Shane I wanted to always stay in shape and be active so I can be hard core like them when I'm older. They said it was an absolute perfect day to do this because of the storm the night before. We started just as the sun came up. I've never seen this side of our 'earth' before. I'm not sure many people have! Talk about Reverence! I thought to myself, "these animals are just about as lucky as it gets to live out here". Because of the fresh snow fall, we never came across any other paths and I was in no hurry whatsoever to get home. When we made it to the top we overlooked Heber Valley, and that alone made the entire day worth it!! Too bad we had to make a trip to the ER late that night from getting sicker than sick! Note to self: next time (when it's 10 degrees) cover my head and wear warmer socks!

After mile seven, my hip-flexor muscle on the right side was not agreeing with all the miles we were climbing.... when I fell over, Larry decided it was a good time to bury me. He called it my "initiation" into the snow-shoeing world
Look at it!! There aren't words so I won't even try to describe the beauty and how I felt being a part of nature that day!
