Lots to Update!! and I mean ALOT!

This past month has been crazy, exciting, busy, and flat out exhausting; yet exhilerating.

In just ONE months we've had...

3 Doctor visits, our nephew was born, mastitis...again!, stroller rides & car rides, Easter, video clips, my mom came back twice, croupe & sick babies, few 'first time' moments, car accidents & mishaps, sunday get-togethers, girls professional photo shoot, experimenting with bath toys & bumbos....OH BOY!

For: Gramma Stauffer, my journaling, and my family because I know you will be very happy about all these pictures!

The twins photo shoot was unbelievable. Unbelievable! Out of 175 pictures, about 120 are fabulous...I'll post some soon.

Pull up a chair and get comfy...The last 12 posts, yes 12 posts, are in no particular order...

...just a months worth of moments. I can't believe my daughters are 4 months old already. 4 MONTHS! Really though, 4 months?!?! OMG, I love them so much! My heart is so full of emotion...

BUT

Sometimes I ask myself: why do we think of our emotions as being centered in the heart? Emotions are centered in the brain of course. But when we experience a powerful emotion~ fear, grief, love~ adrenaline pours into the blood, increases the blood pressure and accelerates the heart. So it makes perfect sense, to me, to think the heart controls emotion. Therefore, I think my heart might explode with emotion over my sweet sweet baby girls!

Ashton gets so excited when I change her diapers. Especially the poopy ones. Those are a big deal in our house because they only happen once or twice a week, which is normal for breastfed babies.

It's hard to capture Lindsey laughing or talking. Whenever we pulled out the flip camera she just stares at it in awe and this video clip doesn't even do her justice but it's pretty good. Turn up the volume!

There's not much to 'see' in this video clip; just 'listen'. I recorded the blue blanket on purpose in order for Lindsey to talk to me. As I said in the post above if she see the camera she'll just stares at it. Notice at the very end of this clip when I do show her face she gets all quiet.

Our cousin is finally here!

Hi baby cousin Steele!! Welcome to earth; it's not so bad here. We've been waiting a whole four months to see you again. We're so glad you made it safe and sound. We love you!

How Big Are We?...

....Soooooo BIG!

(picture above) This is a FOOTED onesie! It was huge on us. Mommy and daddy even had to roll up our sleeves. We wore this outfit the day we came home from the hospital...only 2 days old and weighing barely over 4 pounds!!

This onesie fit us for an entire month after we came home from the hospital. We got down to only 3 1/2 pounds roughly. Auntie Rachel found these and bought as many as she could find because not many places sell 'double preemie' clothing. Thank you Walmart!



HaHa. I laugh because my girls are still so small but to me they seem really big:
Ashton:
Weight: 11 pounds 10 ounces = 10%
Length: 24 inches = 38%
Head: 15.7 inches = 20%

Lindsey:
Weight: 11 pounds 5 ounces= 7%
Length: 23.5 inches = 14%
Head: 15.4 inches = 7%

ASHTON:

~weighs 11 pounds 10 ounces putting her at the 10%tile for weight.

~sleeps completely through the night. Almost 12 hours.

~tries to hold her own bottle and pull it out when we feed her

~likes to face out when she's held

~LOVES her binkie

~Very good eater and very easy to burp

~Our peacemaker easy going and loves her mamma

~she's fragile...gets scared easy and doesn't like loud noises

~pulls my hair. I'm surprised I have any left.

~she does this funny arm circle thing when shes really hungry and tired

~she smacks things when she's upset

~She drools and drools and DROOLS and even blows bubbles with her drool.

~sleeps with her hands up and sometimes up and behind her head, but we have to get her to sleep on her side now to avoid that flat head..

LINDSEY:

~weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces putting her at the 6%tile for weight.

~Continues to squeel and talk louder and higher than any other baby I've ever met. That's one of the first thing people notice about her.

~has to sleep on her tummy and is very upset when she doesn't get a good nap

~ she sucks her thumb

~She tries to eat just about anything she can find. EVERYTHING goes in the mouth.

~prefers her daddy

~sleeps about 5 hours in the night

~She can roll! and she rolls every which way that she can.

~very demanding and animated. This girl know what she wants!

~doesn't know how to soothe herself when she gets really upset

WE ARE GROWING SO FAST

Here we go! On our way to our 4 month check-up....


... which also means VACCINATION DAY!

oh hell.

That was THE worst! There are few things worse than watching my daughters get those shots. At first their eyes widened with shock and horror, then they went silent for just a split second. Then they turned to look at US, panicked, and screamed and sobbed and cried as they lay there pinned down reaching out to us!! Oh.my.gosh. It took awhile for all four of us to calm down.

Afterwards the girls came home and slept forever...in the same crib even. I had to take out the cute bumber so they could both fit. They don't sleep together anymore because they kept waking up from hitting each other. However, after that traumatic experience, I wanted them to sleep together to comfort each other. I knew they'd be in a very deep sleep.

DADDY'S HOME!
Because Shane designs and imports all of Mona Vie's appareal he needed to be at their convention in Florida over the weekend. When he came home Linny was super happy to see him!

The Emergency Doctor was very impressed with Ashton. It was late but she kept smiling at him in between crying. I held her and told her it's ok to cry and she didn't have to be happy all the time. One on one time with Ashton was like no other. It was so nice. Not only because it was easy but because it was so special. There we were at the Doctors and despite being sick, I think she may have had a good time with me all to herself. What a little love bug. She slept on me for so long when we got home....

The doctor said lots of cool moisture, sleep, and fresh air. This is my sweetheart taking a little nap with her little piggy humidifier. At night she has this bed attachment that helps her sleep upright. It makes heartbeat sounds to soothe her. She has a vapoizer on each end of her bassinet and we wraped her up all snug and warm with a beenie. She loved it. Listening to her breathe was the only hard part so I watched her most of the nights- too nervous to sleep myself.

I want to go. And I want really good seats. Preferrably close enough for me to throw my bra at Adam Lambert.

Sunday Dinner...

Hallie is the GREATEST most caring little girl. I think I feel safer with Hallie around my girls than a few adults I know. I had so much fun watching Ashy really enjoy herself around her big cousin.
The grandkids...except we missed Steele. I can't believe Bill and Lynn have 6 grandkids under the age of 3.

It's always so much fun going to the in-laws for sunday dinner. ALOT of work though. I have to bring my pump, both bouncers along with their carseats. We look like we're moving in when we walk through the door. haha

**This last picture was taken when we got home. We all ended up in the girls nursery. We love spending time in there it's so classy and heavenly.

Helping mommy make dinner...

the twins usually sit in the kitchen while I make dinner...when I make dinner, that is. It doesn't always happen. I can't wait for the day when they can put on little aprons, get on their stepping stool and crack the eggs or stir the cookie batter. My niece Taylor used to help me bake and she has no idea how much I loved that!

This is how we have to eat dinner... with the girls right there next to us. Shane and I rarely get to eat together and it's even more rare if it's at a decent hour. Usually it's around 11pm and I'm scarfing it down. I've gotten to the point where I sometimes don't even get the chance to really taste or enjoy it. Tis particular meal was prepared by charayye's mom and it was YUMMY!
