I've been Tagged!

My good friend Lauren tagged me: a request for 6 unique/interesting things about myself. By the way, Lauren, I died when you said you wrote Leonardo DiCaprio a letter. Oh yes- We have that in common :) Do I dare admit that I still have a pretty big crush on him?!! AHHH!

Ok so I know mine will NOT be as entertaining as yours: (P.S. good luck with your cooking show... LOL)

1) I am deathly afraid of scorpions. When Shane and I go home to visit my family I HAVE to bring my slippers because I just cannot walk around the house barefoot. Even if my dad does reassure me, a hundred times, he gets the house sprayed regularly. In the summer, everyone was visiting my folks and we went scorpion hunting in the backyard with a blacklight (they glow fluorescent under the light) and I geared up from head to toe with combat boots for the occasion :)

2) Those of you who know me well, know I am worlds biggest animal lover! So you're probably not going to be surprised to know that I literally can tell you which houses within a mile of my house have cats. Yep, I can tell you every detail about the cats at each house and I talk to them everytime I drive by. Pretty sad that I know the neighborhood cats better than the neighbors

3) I sincerely love to cook and bake~ I'd do it all day everyday if it didn't make me fat :) After a long day of running errands I'll come home and most of the time still want to cook an elaborate dinner and dessert. Baking/cooking is actually one of the things I do to relax too. If I'm stressed out I'll start baking enough for the neighborhood. I have to stop myself. Sometimes Shane will come home from work and if there are tarts or cookies everywhere then he knows it's been a stressful day. It's kind of funny to us. I just love to try new things and make things up myself. Ina Garten from 'Barefoot Contessa' is one of my heros! No seriously!

4) I am obsessed with Mountain Biking! Winter is my favorite season up here but it makes me miss biking. I'll do it until it's just too cold out. This morning it was 34 degrees and that was borderline too cold for me to be out riding. We have some great mountain trails just behind our house! In the summer/fall Shane and I love to ride all the way through the provo canyon. When I'm by myself I love listening to my ipod and changing up my route with different sceneries.

5) I have an addiction to buying blankets, candles, wall plug-ins, anything that smells good. Shane says I set the world record for the most purchases. It doesn't matter how many I have-- I always have an excuse to buy more. FYI: the body shop has candle/oil holders where you put a candle in the bottom and a few drops of oil in the top and it will smell the whole house up! I can smell mine from upsatirs when it's in the kitchen. Amazing Holiday scents out right now! Bath and body works have good oils too (christmas tree scent).... but the body shops are a little stronger :)

6) I am very passionately proud to be an American! I realize its the biggest blessing and privilege to live in the USA. Today is Veteran's Day and I've been thinking about my Pappa Tinsley who was a Colonel during World War Two. I ask everyone to remember all these great men and women in your prayers. They truly are the AMERICAN HEROS! We need to remember to live in such a way that we are worthy of the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for this great country. I really am honored and grateful to be an American and I thank my parents for helping me to understand and appreciate this freedom I enjoy.

***Now I'm supposed to tag 6 people to share 6 unique/interesting things about them. I tag--- Jenny Dannels, Chelsey Felman, Katie Brown, Brittany Naef, Chelise Patterson, Tara Jackson, and Tiffany Applegate. Don't let me down girls!

Loved your comments. You're amazing. One correction, my dad, your Papa, served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Goodhue. He enlisted in the Army after the war and retired as a Colonel which is how you remember him. I miss him and am proud to be an American too!!! Love, Mom

Had to add one more comment. I know, I know, you're probably embarrassed but I just had to say that the fact you know all the cats in the neighborhood better than the neighbors cracked me up...so like you. Love you, non

You are so funny. I must tell you that I usually don't do quizes. Or anything really about myself but I might make a acception for you. I want to see pics of your house too. That suprised me that you love to bake. I love to also, but when I am stressed we go out to eat. It was fun talking the other day. Oh and we are switching the day of the party to the 18th hope you can make it.

All I could think about with your story about the neighborhood cats was good old "Beauf" and your love for that crazy cat! And I learned two things- about the cooking and the mountain biking. Your momma is an amazing cook so I'm sure you are just as good! I have avoided being tagged for a long time now, but for you I just might do it... I really love looking on your blog so don't make me wait too long for updates.
