This Past Month....

*Bath time*
Ashton and Mommy

The twins have come to really love the bath...they just hate getting out. Linny will cry her eyes out, everytime. So lately I figured out a way to make this less stressful for her. I've put a portable heater in our closet, which is right across from the tub, and I turn it on full blast before we jump in the bath. When bath time is over we high-tale it into the 'sauna.' This is where we dry off, put lotion on, and change. Since this discovery, Lindz only screams half of the time. I'd call this a definite improvement!

Love these two pictures. I can still hear Lindz talking to Shane when I look at these. She was imitating every single noise he made and Ashy couldn't take her eyes off him.

Happy Valentine's Day!

**Poor Lindsey**
Does this little baby look happy? YES of course she does and it's because SHE IS!! She's the happiest baby in the world when she's not in pain. Thank you to everyone for all the advice. Although we've yet to find something successful. We've tried:

***many prescriptions. Had to take her off all of them because the gastrointerologist said if it's good for colic it activates acid reflux and the other way around too. He says she's a test case because not many babies suffer from both and they are researching successfull results.
*** tried all the over counter simethicones.
***Nutramigen formula at night, breastmilk in the day.
***Nutramigen formula only.
***breastmilk only.
*** I tried taking digestive enzymes.
***gave Lindz black current seed oil.
***went and saw a baby chiropractor.
***tried the whole natural approach.
***tried the USA Gripe Water AND the Canadian Gripe Water
*** having her sleep in an upright position- mostly in her bouncer.
***eliminated all dairy, beans, garlic, carbination, caffeine, chocolate, onions for my breastmilk for an entire month and saw no change in Lindsey.
Lindsey, your whole adult spirit is in that body of yours and it breaks my heart that we can't fix the problem. I wish you could tell me how, but all you can do is cry. I hope you feel my unconditional love when I'm rocking and singing to you. I'd cut off my right arm to make you feel better when your screaming in that kind of pain. Someday soon this will all be over, baby. Someday very soon.

Ashton loves sleeping with her hands stretched out or up over her head. In fact I haven't seen her sleep any other way since she was about 5 weeks old.

When McKell had colic, there were a few things that really helped. It sounds weird and you've probably already heard of it, but there is the thing called gripe water. It smells like dill pickles, but it worked awesome. The other thing I did was take her to the Chiropractor. He taught me some great massages to do and he did some treatments on her that I can't really remember, but she always did better for a couple of days after. Anyway I am a medical person, but sometimes the Dr. didn't know what to do and the more natural approach worked.

Good luck I know how it feels to have a baby constantly crying and not be able to help her. If you need any help at all, I would be happy to come over. Crying doesn't stress me out like some people, beause I've been through it and I know they survive just fine.

BTW, they are beautiful, I can't wait to see them.

Hey Tru! They are so beautiful, really I love them!!! My friend had twins and one had awful colic and she told me to tell you miracle blankets. It won't take it away but she said it would help some. Maybe worth a try? Also, Holly slept just like Ashton does, with her arms above her head. She still does most nights. SO cute! Love you guys!

Ahhh these pictures and stories just melt my heart. Seriously. I am so grateful for the time I get to spend with your girls. I learn so much being around you and Shane. You guys are such great parents, and such great examples for Matt and I! Thanks for letting me be a part of this stage of their life. Being with the twins brings so much joy to my life, you have no idea. As always, we love all four of you soo much.

I'm one of the strangers here who has followed your journey....I saw a product in my parents magazine the other day that might be helpful, it's called The Nap Nanny.

The webside is www.napnanny.com

it looks really comfy and safe for baby and is supposed to help with reflux and gas etc.

I hope she finds some relief soon...

Hi!!! I haven't checked into your blog in a couple of months...and I just want to cry with happiness for you! What a beautiful family you have...How you have been blessed! It is just so wonderful to see such a happy ending/beginning after a kind of scary pregnancy. You were brave Truly...and full of faith and even though you don't know me from one mommy to another I remembered you in my prayers once or twice. So glad for you!!!! Hooray!!! We have six children of our own..there is so much emotion in being a mommy...so much love more than you thought you could possibly feel. Isn't it a beautiful plan? Thanks for allowing me to check in on you once in awhile..May the Lord bless you all and keep you....
