Thanksgiving and Pebble Beach!

Happy Thanksgiving 2009
Oh my gosh, Or 'oh my word' as my sister would say- hahaha. I love this family of mine. Man!...can they get under my skin sometimes, but MAN! I couldn't love them more! They are wonderful people who just know how to have a good time and my parents!! My parents will jump through hoops to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.
Of course this was the night of BAKING! Taylor got to spend the night all by herself and I wish I would have taken the time to sit and talk with her. I think I remember falling asleep at the top of the stairs that night.

The night before Thanksgiving Rach and Allens kids came over to make delicious Holiday treats. Everything was edible, of course: turkeys, pilgrim hats, corn husks, and more. Shane led the activities- he was perfect as he has all the patience in the world and relate to children so natural. They were laughing and being silly and making jokes. I was tickled to death when I saw Shane pull out stuff to make tee-pees! Tee-Pees!?!!! Where on earth did he learn how to do that?! Then that night as I was shutting the laptop down, I saw this written in the google search-- "thanksgiving edible crafts". Teepees was the second demonstration. Next to the computer was his grocery list.
Baby, you're hot!

Shane also bought construction paper and made Indian headresses for everyone.. The twins got one too of course!!!
I really love this picture. Everyone is looking SHARP!
My dad was back east on a Harley trip and found these funny t-shirts. He got one for all the boys. And yes, Shane wore his last night around the house. Shane wears his lots of nights around the house. He might be wearing it right now, in fact.

My dad is GREAT! He went to the pet store and bought a animal corral to keep the babies safe in the backyard while the bigger crazy kids could play hard. It was originally intended to be a place where all the baby toys could gather and keep my twins from hurting themsleves and getting into everything. BUT after 5minutes in the backyard we realized it was actually a major protection for the littles! Scooters, barbie jeeps, big wheels, and bikes were rippin around every corner and tents and playhouses were being raced in and out of by all the grandkids. So Yes, great idea dad the babies needed a safe area where they could play :)
My beautiful pregnant sister in law with her boy, Van.

I needed some fresh air- a nice 8 mile run through the canyon by my moms house was THEE perfect remedy. I remember I had an awesome playlist and I LOVED this run!...mostly because it was overcast!
Shopping! We have a family tradition where we go to the mall, split up and try to buy everyone in the family gifts under $25....total! It is difficult especially when you're on a time limit. This year was super challenging. Shane had Lindsey and I had Ashton. Towards to end, Ashton did NOT want to be in the stroller anymore so I carried her and tried pushing the double stroller with one hand becasue she was in the other and not happy at all. Poor thing!
Loving Gammy....

Loving Papa as we visited him at work!
I vividly remember sitting behind my dads desk on "take your daughter to work day"  That was an exciting day! (We had milkshakes and his office provided lunch) Crazy how I returned to that same office years later to see the same familiar and friendly faces. Only this time instead of a bright pink backpack I had my two darling daughters!! You sure work with some neat people, dad!

At the airport getting ready to come back home. Now I do realize that twins in general get loads of attention but not nearly as much attention when Ashton is sitting in this position! I kept pulling her leg back in but she'd instantly lay it right back over Lindseys lap.... for over an hour! She may be double jointed with her hips as she can do anything with those legs. She truly is in the middle splits in this picture. I should make a post of all the crazy leg positions I've caught her in! Some positions I don't have pictures of because it was just too freaky and weird that her hips could allow her legs to do such things.

Pebble Beach and Carmel

We spent a good week before thanksgiving at Grandmas house in Pebble again. It's one of our very favorite places!! I love how the town seems to shut down and sleep around 9pm and everyone is up with their coffee, walking their dogs or playing the course by 6am. It's such a relaxing place for me. Just as the sun is setting and all the golfers are off the course its so lovely to practice putting on the green. Daniel and Kimberly came out with us and we also brought our twins along so I wouldn't miss them!!

However, I needed a vacation of my own too- so we also brought along worlds best babysitters.....
Papa and Gammy!!!!
Shane snuck in a few holes in front of the house when the course was slow. I looked out the window and I said, "hey, dont you think that guy looks like Shane?" and Daniel was busting up! They'd never let someone play Pebble dressed like that, duh!

This is a great trail to sight see. Each morning this is where I do my runs. Kimberly did a nice 5 miler with me one morning. Its amazing how much easier it is to breathe at sea level. She loved the casual artists just off the path painting the views and I loved all the incredible houses and dogs walking with their owners.  These dogs had on nicer sweaters than I own!!

We loved eating at our favorite restaurants in Carmel...our very favorite: Casanova. We highly reccommend it if you're out there! All four of our meals were excellent!

We ate in one night too, which was probably my favorite night. Crab legs and steaks! It was delicious and fun to eat with my mom and dad D and K. AND have the babies all tucked in sleeping soundly in their bedroom. It was a good feeling.

How funny it was when I realized out of all the bathrooms in the house, none of them have bathtubs; only showers. The sink was more fun anyway! :)

On the front porch (above) and taking an evening stroll on the golf course

On the airplane with gammy, papa, and mommy. Headed to Arizona for Thanksgiving. Look at Linny dancing to her movie; and Ash kept turning the volume up- so funny!! Everyone within 10 feet of us heard 'twinkle twinkle' and 'itsy bitsy spider' one thousand times over- good thing they were encouraging my girls and loving it. (except the woman next to dad- haha) Shane had to get back to Utah just for two days and get some work in, then he met us in Az where we had another great vacation!!

You can invite us to Pebble Beach for babysitting duty any time! We had just as much fun as you and Shane, and it was also very relaxing. So..., when are we going again? :) We also love Daniel and Kimberly lots!

Hey, I forgot about how much fun we had at the mall. I'm always amazed at what you can buy for 7 people with 25 bucks. You know, like Frederick's of Hollywood clearance underwear, chapstick, cool bookmarks, room spray, socks. You can even get diamond earrings (no one would know they were glass unless you told them!). You can get all kinds of good stuff. Ahhh, good times.

Yo Truly, your entry was king sized and I keep remembering stuff I want to comment about. Shane was amazing with the Thanksgiving edible festivities. My fav was the teepee! That was brilliant. Second fav was the Indian head dress. Awesome. Just awesome. One more thing, taking the girls to Dad's office. That was so special for him. I'm glad we did it. The girls were so cute. And lastly, there was an upclose pic of Shane with Lindsey wearing brown and holding a big lego....OMG I died it was so cute!!!!! OK, now I'm done :)
